Adjusting

Life in the Kiefer household has been crazy with me trying to get adjusted to being back at work. I love my job and have a great group of students, but it’s still stressful trying to adjust. Olivia is doing great though! We started her on a natural remedy right around the time school started. It seems to be helping her eat and sleep better. She has been sleeping better both at night and naps. She has also started enjoying playing with food more and trying to eat some things. On top of that she has been taking a lot more from her bottle! He weight had tapered off, but seems to be picking up again now that we increased her calorie intake again.

We have two nurses that come in to care for Olivia while we’re at work. She is adjusting really well to that. She even gets sad some days when the one nurse leaves. She is crawling all over and getting into everything. She recently figured out how to climb the stairs. She is also starting to cruise along furniture. I think it’s only a matter of time before she starts walking.

Olivia really enjoyed playing with her food one night. She more in her hair than her mouth and then daddy decided to do her hair!

Look at me!

Olivia has enough hair to do ponytails now!

Olivia loves Oreos!

GROSS! Olivia has discovered the toilet, which happens to be the perfect height for her to stand at! EEW!

Well I think all of this news is so positive and uplifting. Olivia seems to be doing FANTASTIC! I am so proud of her accomplishments. She has come a long way. Look at her standing! That smile is just so wide and her mohawk was precious. It's great that she is attached to the nurses-it must make going to work slightly easier for you. I am happy that you have a nice group of students. I am so glad you posted. I had been wondering about new pictures and when they were coming!

Yay Olivia!! I'm so happy to hear how great she is doing! She has come a long way! She'll be walking before you know it! Love the pictures of her - she is so beautiful and has such a sweet smile!
I'm glad that you have a great group of students! That is wonderful that Olivia likes her nurses so well!

Glad things are going so well for you all! Olivia is just too cute, and is really hitting those milestones! You might have to get a couple of those toilet locks though, she'll be trying to play in there before you know it!

It's so great to see Olivia up and moving around. Nathan himself discovered the toilet and loved throwing his hands in it. Thank God he can't reach the water and can't lift the seat up. He now loves dunking his binkie into the dog's water bowl so I have to take that away from the dog. Once up and about they keep you busy. But, it's a joy to see them enjoying the simple things in life. Yeah Olivia!!

Oliva is adorable. The toilet does seem to draw our kids when they start to stand.

Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone with a preemie achon kid. Check out my blog, www.adayinthebankesterlife@blogspot.com. If you ever need to talk to someone who has walked a similar path, I'm here.

Olivia is definitely thriving and is happy. Way to go Olivia on all the new skills you are learning. Watch out mom, better get some running shoes on, she's going to be running before too much longer.
